March progresses in fits and starts towards spring. So does THE 99 PROJECT. One project ends, another begins; one goal moves away but opens up new perspectives. Despite the pandemic which imposes its repetitive agenda, THE 99 PROJECT seeks (and finds) something new. And more new again.

First reading
About ten readers premiered 99 WOMEN LEBANON on March 6 in an online session. The event was reserved for participants. We wanted this privacy because reading without preparation such a dense text, in three languages, trilingual on zoom, is a risky exercise. We added to the monologues produced between June and July 2020 by forty writers, four texts written just after the explosion at the Port of Beirut on August 4, 2020. The blast of the explosion at the Port of Beirut drastically changed reality; the irruption of these four texts produces a mirroring striking effect.

And now?
From the survey carried out among project participants, two priorities emerge. The first would be to collaboratively stage the play in Lebanon, like the “large” 99 projects that took place in Shanghai, Pune or Nice. The second would aim to adapt the script of the play to create a 100% Lebanese web series. Two very beautiful projects which we are going to tackle….
99 AMBITIONS
Give meaning to women ambition
To the question: “do you consider yourself an ambitious person?” “48% of French women answer yes but 49% consider that they are not. While the cliché of the aggressive careerist has lived, the idea of ambition still divides women. Is it a personality aspect, a passion or a value? Is female ambition of psychological or political nature? Do men and women feel equally authorized to assert their ambition?
The documentary and participative writing journey “99 ambitions” invites to explore the ambivalent nature of ambition during eight online writing workshops from early April to the end of May. The workshops will draw on literature, audio or film sources to feed your own stories. As an outcome of the writing cycle, all the texts will form a new polyphonic narrative of women ambition, which will in turn serve as raw material for a series of podcasts combining fiction, biography and archives according to THE PROJECT 99 format.
“99 ambitions”, will not be a collection of portraits of well-identified ambitious women – for example giving to hear interviews of “exceptional” women but to open, to everyone a space for expression and exchanges and meet different expectations: cultivating one’s own ambition, nourishing one’s creativity, participating in a collective artistic project.
No need to consider yourself an ambitious person to have the ambition to join this project.

Looking for the professions of the future
In September 2020, Geneviève met the Director of the Master in Innovation and Territorial Development* at the University of Nice and suggested that she should engage her students in a process of documentary writing and participatory theater intended to make them understand their future. jobs. I imagined this device to help everyone find their own path in the galaxu of Territorial Development professions but also to think collectively about the future of these little-known but growing professions. Sensitive inquiry, participatory writing, collective deliberation and projection, 99 hit the mark and the result is quite surprising. 99 Students is a comedy in which a very ambitious Head of subdivision, an Employment and Training Manager very invested in her mission, a Hike Leader allergic to bureaucracy, a Mayor who rides an electric bike and a very upbeat private beach manager against new concession award process and many others …This positive educational innovation signed “99” will end next week with the shooting of individual videos.
*Territorial development is a proactive process seeking to increase the competitiveness of territories by involving stakeholders in transversal actions often with a strong spatial dimension.

Students, envision your future with theater!
And now?
THE 99 PROJECT was designed to tackle complex human issues and work on them individually and collectively in order to act. What could be more complex than defining a professional project, at the crossroads of personal preferences and changes in society? The last few years have reinforced the personalization of professional paths and thus increased the isolation of individuals at work. Getting students to think collectively about their future jobs is a very energizing and reassuring process. I would really like to repeat this experience with students from other disciplines.

Mars, vif et incertain, avance par à-coups vers le printemps. De même le PROJET 99. Un projet s’achève, un autre commence ; un objectif s’éloigne mais ouvre de nouvelles perspectives. Malgré la pandémie qui impose son agenda répétitif, le PROJET 99 cherche (et trouve) du neuf. Et encore du neuf!

Première lecture
Une dizaine de lectrices ont lu pour la première fois 99 WOMEN LEBANON le 6 mars lors d’une session en ligne. L’événement était réservé aux participantes. Cette privauté était voulue car lire sans préparation un texte aussi dense, en trois langues, sur zoom est un exercice périlleux. Aux monologues produits entre juin et juillet 2020 par la quarantaine de femmes participantes s’étaient ajoutés quatre textes écrits juste après l’explosion du port de Beyrouth le 4 août 2020. Le souffle de l’explosion du port de Beyrouth a modifié la réalité libanaise de manière brutale ; en miroir, l’irruption de ces quatre textes dans la pièce était émouvant.

Et maintenant ?
D’après le sondage réalisé auprès des participantes du projet, deux priorités émergent. La première serait de monter la pièce de manière participative au Liban à la manière des « grands » projets 99 de Shanghai, de Pune ou de Nice. La seconde viserait à adapter le script de la pièce pour réaliser une web série 100% libanaise. Deux très beaux projets auxquels nous allons nous atteler….
99 AMBITIEUSES
Redonner du sens à l’ambition féminine
A la question : « vous considérez-vous comme ambitieuse ? » 48% des femmes françaises répondent oui* mais 49% considèrent ne pas l’être. Si le cliché de l’arriviste agressive a vécu, tout n’est pas réglé pour autant et l’idée d’ambition divise les femmes. Est-ce un trait de caractère, une passion ou une valeur ? L’ambition féminine est-elle de nature psychologique ou politique ? Hommes et femmes se sentent-ils autorisés de la même façon à affirmer leur ambition ?
C’est précisément le caractère ambivalent de l’ambition que le parcours d’écriture documentaire et participatif « 99 ambitieuses » propose d’explorer au cours de huit ateliers d’écriture en ligne de début avril à fin mai. Les ateliers s’appuieront sur des sources littéraires, radiographiques ou cinématographiques pour nourrir vos propres récits. A la fin du cycle d’écriture, l’ensemble des textes produits constituera un nouveau récit polyphonique de l’ambition au féminin qui servira à son tour de matière première à une série de podcasts mêlant personnages de fiction, récits biographique et documents d‘archives à la manière du PROJET 99.
« 99 ambitieuses », ne sera pas une collection de portraits d’ambitieuses bien identifiées – par exemple donnant à entendre des interviews de femmes « au parcours exceptionnel » mais à ouvrir, à toutes, un espace d’expression et d’échanges pour répondre à des aspirations variées : cultiver sa propre ambition, nourrir sa créativité, participer à un projet artistique collectif.
Nul besoin de se considérer comme ambitieuse pour nourrir l’ambition de rejoindre ce projet.

Métiers d’avenir
En Septembre 2020, Geneviève a rencontré la Directrice du Master Innovation et Management des Territoires* l’Université de Nice et lui a proposé d’engager ses étudiant.e.s dans un processus d’écriture documentaire et de théâtre participatif destiné à leur faire appréhender leurs futurs métiers. J’ai imaginé ce dispositif pour aider chacun à trouver son propre chemin dans la nébuleuse des professions du développement territorial mais aussi réfléchir collectivement au futur de ces métiers peu connus mais en pleine expansion. Enquête sensible, écriture participative, délibération collective et projection, 99 a fait mouche et le résultat est tout à fait surprenant. 99 Etudiant.e.s est une comédie où se croisent une Chef de subdivision très ambitieuse, un Responsable Emploi et Formation très investi dans sa mission, une Animatrice de randonnée allergique à la bureaucratie, un Maire qui roule en vélo électrique et un Gérant de plage privée très remonté contre les nouvelles règles d’attribution des concessions et bien d’autres… Cette innovation pédagogique réjouissante signée 99 se terminera la semaine prochaine par la réalisation de vidéos individuelles.

Et maintenant ?
Le PROJET 99 a été conçu pour se saisir de problématiques humaines complexes et les travailler individuellement et collectivement afin d’agir. Or, quoi de plus complexe que de définir un projet professionnel, à la croisée des préférences personnelles et des évolutions de la société ? Ces dernières années ont renforcé la personnalisation des parcours professionnels et ainsi accru l’isolement des individus face au travail. Faire réfléchir les étudiant.e.s collectivement sur leurs futurs métiers est une démarche très énergisante et rassurante. J’aimerais vraiment refaire cette expérience avec des étudiant.e.s d’autres disciplines.
