99 Femmes Maroc

99 Women Morocco

The dynamic of the project continues with Open Village

Resulting from the collaboration of two associations OPEN-VILLAGE and THE 99 PROJECT, the project 99 Women Morocco aimed at making known and recognizing the place of women in the Moroccan rural world and support their social, cultural and economic empowerment. For a year, from July 2021 to July 2022, nearly two hundred women, rural and urban, worked together to create a play that tells the life of rural women and organize community festivals in nine villages in Morocco.

For Karine Benabadji, director of OPEN VILLAGE, the project has made it possible to set up a united network of women leaders in the villages, committed to designing and implementing together sustainable development actions at the service of their communities. Since the end of the project, Karine has continued to empower this network through many initiatives.
